Trust in Business and Commerce

Trust scores are widely used in the commercial world. They are typically based on anonymous ratings given by their business partners or an algorithm based on observable characteristics in business relationships.

The first category includes ratings given to products or stores on consumer platforms. They include reverse ratings of consumers by service providers (such as passenger–rather than drive–ratings on Uber).

The second category includes credit scores given to consumers by credit rating agencies based on their utilization of credit and past repayment performance and related information provided by financial institutions.
